FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you can't find an answer here, give us a call or use the Contact Us form found here.

What should I bring when I come canoeing?

Everyone will need a printed, completed liability form and a mask to wear while in the van and in the store. The leader of your group will need to bring a photo ID, credit card, and set of car keys, which we use to secure our equipment. We strongly recommend, but do not require, closed-toe shoes, water, bug spray, and sunblock.

What's the process for going canoeing?

Make sure to reserve your spot at least 24 hours in advance! Please arrive at the Trailhead ten minutes before your scheduled time and head into the bike shop to sign in. You’ll be outfitted with life jackets and paddles before climbing aboard our vans and riding upriver. You and your group will be launched and will paddle back downstream to the Trailhead, ending at your car—no waiting around to be picked up after your trip.

Can we bring our dog?

At this time we are NOT allowing dogs, hopefully we will be able to allow them back on the river soon.

Can I fish while canoeing?

Yes!  The water quality of the Tuscarawas River has improved greatly over the past several years. This has brought with it an abundance of Northern Pike, bass, blue gill, crappie, and other fish. We do NOT have bait here, so be sure to stock up on your way in!

What if it rains?

We operate rain or shine. We will suspend operations if the rain is accompanied by lightning.

Does the river ever get too high to go canoeing?

Absolutely. It's always best to call ahead to check water levels, especially if we've experienced lots of rain!

How many people can fit in one canoe?

Three adults or two adults and two children. We do have a couple larger canoes that will hold up to four adults or two adults and four children. Call ahead to reserve these. And remember: our prices are per person, not per boat. Four adults in two canoes is the same price as four adults in one, so you can spread out and get comfy!
